You can trust the knowledge of those who have had experiences with it, or you can establish your own wealth of experience on the subject of magic. Of course, you can also forgo the use and application of magic altogether. This will not change the fact that it exists. It is part of the laws of nature, or rather, it is bound by them. One could also say that magic is a natural state.
